Safety is integral to all we do.

At Southland Mechanical, we do not start a project without considering every safety issue. At our location or our client’s, our focus is on everyone’s wellbeing. Our priority is to plan for and create the conditions that result in workplace safety for our people, and anyone else involved in the project. Through innovative, behavior-based safety training, we employ every procedure and policy to keeping safety top of mind.

Safety starts with us.

At Southland Mechanical, it’s our responsibility to maintain focus on preparing everyone to be safe. We start each day by examining in detail how we can accomplish our goals in the safest way possible. By joining Modigent, we align with rigorous safety programs that include several initiatives aimed at incident and injury prevention and driving more cultural adoption. These include Field Ergonomics Training, a National Safety Committee, a new single-source personal protective equipment (PPE) program, and Leadership Observations. With a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) well below the average for plumbing, heating, and air-conditioning providers, Modigent is setting a new standard for protecting employees, building leadership accountability, and preventing human-focused risk.

Safety above all else.

Southland Mechanical stands apart by going above and beyond by obtaining the highest standards of safety training certifications and compliance guidelines. Our dedicated team undergoes regular training to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest safety practices which result in:

  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications
  • Houston Area Safety Council training
  • ISNet, AVETTA, Compass compliance

In safety, you shouldn’t be comfortable until the data is right. Our decisions, resources, and credibility all sit on top of that data. If the numbers are off, we’re guessing instead of managing risk. Safety leadership isn’t about perfect statistics—it’s about trustworthy ones that help us protect people the way they deserve.
